[ Her arms loop around his neck. ]
I'm happy to do anything though. We could let the TARDIS take us somewhere after cleaning up. Or we could go explore the forest.
no subject
We could explore more of the planet. Head out tomorrow? I think we deserve a planet not as dangerous for our first night together as a married couple in a long time.
[But he knows them; they both love the rush, the thrill that a new adventure presents to them. His suggestion is just a way of deliberating slowing them down, a valuable lesson that heβs learned since they had parted ways.]
no subject
I'll help clean up.
[ But first, another kiss. Because he has the right idea about slowing down. And it only seems right that they kiss as often as possible. ]
no subject
And maybe, he thinks, he would have gotten there eventually with Clara had they kept adventuring. Maybe not as soon as she would have liked or hoped, but eventually. But there's something easier in knowing that she remembers his real name, his first face, and their shared history.
He returns the kiss, taking his time to explore her again, taking more time than he normally would before reluctantly pulling back to urge her towards the kitchen.]
The dishes aren't going to wash themselves. We're Time Lords not wizards.

By the time they're done the record has played both sides and they've finished the wine. ]
Job well done, us. I missed doing all of these little things with you. I missed being your wife. Not just a wife, but yours, specifically.

[Alcohol doesn't effect him as much as it does humans so he can't blame the sudden thought that crosses his mind on it but he doesn't want to anyway. He'd rather be honest with her. He carefully wrings the tea towel in his hands, not necessarily meeting her gaze.]
Emotions are a funny thing especially when you don't remember them but I think I'm starting to remember now why I was so annoyed when I first met Danny.
no subject
...Okay. [ If he thought her question earlier was a trap, she feels the same about this. ] Are you gonna make me guess?
no subject
He wasn't wrong though. I knew that if you were going to be with someone else, even if it was him, that you'd be taken care of.

Since you brought it up then. I was so in love with you when you regenerated. We were so close, I was so close to telling you everything in Christmas. But then you sent me away and I couldn't get back to you for three hundred years. I had to beg for your lives. I shouted into that crack about love and then...then you pushed me away. You couldn't even touch me, couldn't stand to hug me. I didn't understand then.
[ There's so much regret in her voice and in her eyes when she looks up at him. ]
I didn't know how to go from what we had to nothing, and when Danny was interested I let it happen and then it went too far. I didn't love Danny. I wanted you, but until the end, I had no idea what you wanted from me.
[ And they were married, the whole time. What a mess that was. ]
no subject
I didn't not love you, Clara. I did. I do. I [His voice trails off.] didn't know how else to react. [The corner of his mouth quirks upwards in an attempt at humor.] If there's one thing that hasn't changed from regeneration to regeneration it's that I'm an idiot.
no subject
I'm not much better. [ The moment she thought she was throwing the TARDIS keys away forever, that hurts. God, she was stupid. ]
If it still means anything, I'm sorry. [ Clara's looking up at him, brown eyes a little watery as she steps closer to him. ]
no subject
After a minute he walks towards her to pull her close.]
It's all in the past now.
no subject
Because I begin and end with you.
[ Taking his hand, she kisses his palm, then right over his wedding ring before a realization crosses her features. ]
My ring is gone. [ She feels distressed at the realization because it was special, because he'd had it made especially for her. ]
no subject
[With her holding him close he can feel the distress ripple through her body.]
We can get you another one. [He takes her hand, closing his fingers around hers.] We can call it an adventure.
no subject
Should we stay here or go to the TARDIS?
no subject
I think thatβs entirely up to you. What do you want it to be made of? It is your ring. Stardust from a dying star? Wood from the oldest tree in the universe? Sapphires from the heart of a dying giant?
no subject
You're gonna call me a hopeless romantic, but you just inspired it so it's your fault. [ She flashes him a grin, then kisses the inside of his wrist, over his pulse. ] Somewhere in the universe on the day we were married, a star was born. The space dust surrounding it and stones from your birth season.
[ They don't have birthstones, but gems that correspond to the changing seasons of Gallifrey. ]

[He loves the idea though calling to his somewhat possessive qualities when it comes to things and people dear to him. He pulls her hand to his mouth pressing a kiss to it in turn.]
But whatever you say, boss. We'll set out tomorrow.
no subject
If we're leaving tomorrow, what should we do for the rest of the evening? [ It's not as if they need to sleep again soon, and while knows what she wants to be doing, she figures she should let him pick. ]
no subject
[The Doctor knows what Clara wants to suggest; he doesn't have to be telepathically linked to her to know that. But his own reply and a slightly raised eyebrow would have been enough indication to Clara that he was fully in support of whatever ideas she had.]
no subject
Take a walk with me, Doctor. I want to find some of the other flowers that only bloom close to sunrise and see if we still have a family of swans living on the lake.
[ Clara knows, logically, that they have time for having one another, even if she feels like the other shoe still might drop, that someone will arrive any second to take him away from her. She hasn't shared that with him yet - she will - but for now she wants to keep laughing, and she wants to feel his hand in hers as they walk. ]
no subject
They spend the rest of the evening as she requests, looking for the family of swans first (they're not the same swans, but they're the great-great-great-grandchildren of the ones that they had met the last time they had been here), before returning to the house to grab blankets and torches so that they can go and search for these elusive flowers. They find them in the twilight and hold hands tightly watching in wonder as they bloom, releasing a shower of firefly-esque creatures into the night.
They head home and fall asleep curled around each other with that god awful blanket he hates over them and the next morning have a tidy breakfast, clean up, lock up and make their way back to the TARDIS. He gazes towards he before closing the door behind them.]
Ready to go?
no subject
Sleeping curled in his arms is better than anything else, and she wakes happy, content to kiss him for a while. ]
[ When they leave she reaches for his hand. ] I'm ready. Next adventure please.
no subject
The TARDIS door opens and they're surrounded by sparkling star dust.]
Right. Now, how do we want to do this?
no subject
I thought that was your department, the figuring out of things? [ She's teasing and glances over at him. ]
Space walk? It's been a while.
